Jo-Marie Burt '86 will discuss the prosecutions for war crimes during the dictatorships in Latin America in the 1970s, '80s and '90s, particularly prosecutions of former President Fujimori in Peru and military officers accused of torture in Guatemala. Some prosecutions have been successful in sending human rights offenders to jail and in others they have failed.
