E. Benjamin Skinner, investigative journalist and author of A Crime So Monstrous: Face-to-Face with Modern-Day Slavery, will talk about the global scale of human trafficking and slavery.
Skinner is a Senior Fellow at the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University. He has reported on diverse topics from five continents for Time, Newsweek International, Travel + Leisure, and others. His book, A Crime So Monstrous, follows human trafficking through Haiti, Sudan, Romania and India, infiltrating slave markets and sharing the stories of slaves. It was awarded the 2009 Dayton Literary Peace Prize for Nonfiction.
The lecture opens a yearlong series called 'Beyond Borders: On the Global Movement of Peoples,' organized by the Center for Religion, Ethics and Culture.
