YALE PROFESSOR TO GIVE LECTURE ON BURIAL PRACTICES IN MODERN FICTION
Description:

Pericles Lewis, professor of English and comparative literature at Yale University who has been named president of Yale-NUS, a new college opening this year in Singapore, will give a talk titled 'The Burial of the Dead in Modern Fiction.' He is the author of 'Religious Experience and the Modernist Novel' (Cambridge University Press, 2010). His talk, one of the Deitchman Family Lectures on Religion and Modernity, will feature the writings of James Joyce and Thomas Mann.
