Internationally renowned organist Pavel Kohout will perform as part of the College's Chapel Artist Series. The concert will consist of works by Buxtehude, Böhm, J.S. Bach, C.P.E. Bach an old Czech masters. The performance will be free, open to the public and handicap accessible.
The recipient of the prestigious First Prize and J.S. Bach Prize at Musahino, Tokyo’s internatonal organ competition in 2000, Kohout is one of the world’s most respected European concert artists. Graduating from the Prague Conservatory and the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in 1996, he has also studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the Netherlands. In 1998 and 1999 he won first prizes in several other international contests, in Ljublijana and Vilinus, respectively. He has also won the “Dancing Angel” prize of the European Music Competition for Youth.
