In our time, the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution are often treated as historical moments with few teachings that remain relevant to the new politics of today.  However, contemporary concerns over the meaning of equality, constraints on executive power, and the preservation of liberty predate the Constitution.  What if the American framers could teach us something about them?

In his talk, Professor Michael M. Uhlmann will argue that on reflection their understanding of the nature of these problems can help us develop solutions in our time, if we would only give them the chance.
