The Irish writer Emilie Pine is author of Notes to Self (Tramp Press, 2018), a riveting collection of personal essays tackling issues including addiction, fertility, feminism, sexual violence, and depression.  This collection sat at the top of the non-fiction bestseller list in Ireland when it was published, reflecting the nation's current progressive mood and its burgeoning commitment to transparency.  Pine is associate professor of modern drama at University College Dublin and serves as Director of the Irish Memory Studies Research Network (www.irishmemorystudies.com) and Primary Investigator of the IRC New Horizons major project Industrial Memories, a digital witnessing of the 2009 Report of the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse (Ryan Report).  Her reading is sponsored by the Edward Callahan Support Fund for Irish Studies."
