Daniel Ziblatt (Harvard University) is the co-author, with Steven Levitsky, of the book How Democracies Die. As Larry Diamond summarizes it, the book shows "how the actions of elected leaders around the world have paved the road to democratic failure, and why the United States is now vulnerable to this same downward spiral." In this talk, Professor Ziblatt will draw from his research in comparative politics to illustrate lessons and warning signs of democratic decline, both here and abroad.

The talk is sponsored by the Charles Carroll Program.
